Philly’s Top Five

What Makes Philly, "Philly"

Josh Richardson adjusting to Philly weather, has to turn heat on in car

2 min read

Playing in beautiful Miami for the first four seasons of an NBA career can spoil anybody. Living and working every day in 90 degrees and sunny weather is a luxury for the citizens of that area to enjoy.

For new Philadelphia 76ers guard Josh Richardson, a second-round pick of the Heat in 2015, the first big adjustment has been the weather up north. While it’s 80 degrees currently in Miami, it’s a little colder in Philadelphia and Richardson, an Oklahoma native, revealed on Twitter that he turned the heat on in his car for the first time in five years and he was shocked that he had to do so.

If 60 degrees in October is cold to Richardson, he’s going to be in for a real shock when he has to drive to the arena in the snow in January and February. It will be the first of many adjustments he will have to make to his new team and new city as he continues to help the Sixers chase an NBA championship.
