First-Bank-United-StatesPhiladelphia is a city of firsts. And the First Bank of the United States is another one of those. Because of the debt of the Revolutionary War, Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton proposed a plan to establish a national bank.

 

You can enjoy the architectural beauty of the exterior. Unfortunately, tours of the inside are not available. The building is now used as offices as offices for the National Park Service.
